This was a productive week...

I have a finished object and two works in progress...

I know, I know... I said I cannot have more than one projects on my needles, but...

First things first...

I finished the flax sweater for my cousin on Monday... It was a very pleasant knit...

Very easy and it flew off my needles...

I used Yarn Art Shetland, which is an Aran weight yarn and 5mm circular needles for the body and 4mm sirculars for the rib.

I modified the neckline and I will write a blogpost about those modifications.

I need to weave in the ends (of course), but since I want to gift it for Christmas 🎄 I have plenty of time to do it.

At the moment I have on my needles two things...

The first one is a dress... Another dress... I frogged the previous one, because I made a mistake on the gauge and it ended up big for me...

I desided to use an already existing pattern of a shirt that I liked and continue with the increases and then knit straight up to the point I want it (approximately on or a little bit under my knees).

I finished the yoke and I split for the body and the sleeves...

The pattern is from DROPS Designs and it's called Sweet Susan. I will knit it using Ice Yarns Baby Summer on Mint colour and I use 3,5mm needles...

It is an easy knit and it is knit top down as one piece...

Now that I split for the body and sleeves it is a mindless stockinette knit, until I get to the point that I will pick up for the sleeves (which are short) and knit the lace... So, it will be my potato-chip knitting and the one I reach for when I want to pay attention on something else and not what I knit...

My second work in progress is a set...

I have a lot of yarn left from the flax and I thought to make a set of a cowl, hat and (if I have enough yarn) mittens for my friend as a gift, as well...

I will use Drops Designs again and the pattern is called Florence.

For all three pieces (or four, if you count the mittens as two- which they are... 😕) I would need 350 grams of the Nepal yarn... Now that my yarn is of another brand, I have to check if it will be enough...

I already started the cowl this morning... It is not a mindless knit as the other one, because it is a lace pattern... But it is not a difficult lace... I am not sure if it is a beginner's pattern but it is not a very difficult one...

All the designs I knit so far are free...

Most of my dress knitting happened during the movie night...

We watched DiCaprio again, the Departed... Scorsese did a very good job... It was hard, but it was realistic... We really enjoyed it...

Next on our queue is The Aviator...

I will let you know if I liked it...

Talk to you next week...

Be safe...
