Sunday 29-11-2020

Welcome back to another page of my knitting journals...

Hope you are all safe and well!!!

It's been two weeks...

Nothing really interesting happened in my life, but everyday things kept me from writing last week...

We are still on mandatory lockdown until the 7th of December, which is a week later than the original date. Hope it is for the best... I don't feel very happy about it, but there is nothing I can do to change it...

On the plus side, we put on our Christmas tree and all the other decoration... We don't celebrate Thanksgiving here in Greece, so we didn't have a holiday like that on our calendar, but I am curious to see how Christmas will be...

Probably everyone on its own home and zooming around the Christmas table... We will see...

On knitting related staff...

I have an FO (finally), 3 WIPs and my Movie Knitting (which makes them 4 WIPs...)

Let's begin...

My Finished Objects

I finally finally finished the other mitten...

Now I have the full Florence set ready (I have a few ends to weave, but ok) and I only need to ship it to my friend...

I don't recall if I mentioned it last week, but my friends nameday is on the 6th of December... I was planning on sending it for her nameday, but things don't go as planned... I don't think I will be able to ship it that soon... But it is a handmade thing and I don't think it matters when she gets it as soon as she does... So I will ship it with a little delay...

In total it was an easy knit and I would say it is a nice project for someone trying lace for the first time... Plus, it is aran weight which makes it a quick knit... And a good gift project... Of course, you don't have to knit the whole set... You could just do only one or two pieces...

My Works In Progress

I finished the front of my boyfriends vest... Finally, again...

Now I need to sew it together and pick up stitches and knit the ribbing around the neck and the arms...

If I haven't mentioned before I do now... I hate weaving in ends and sewing pieces together... Now that I have the blog, I might do it earlier... But no promises...

My second work in progress is my KAL sock... I haven't finished it and I still have one more to make... These are too big for my foot and they are meant for my boyfriend... Which makes me very happy... A lot of gifts for him this Christmas (assuming they will be ready for Christmas)...

I have one more chart to make and then finish the sock...

The reason this is not finished is that I waited for the last chart... My process of thinking was that I will place the last chart in the middle of the foot instead before the toes... I have a pair of isothermic (I think they are called that way) socks and they have ribbing in the middle of the foot as well... I thought to place the chart there in order to make them warmer... The chart came out but I didn't have time to pick them...

My third work in progress is a new cast on...

I decided to make a set for myself using the yarn I frogged from my scarf and hat...

I started the Malin set from Drops Designs, but the yarn has both black and a lot of colors and you cannot see the pattern...

It is a really nice pattern but I don't see why I have to spend so much time if the pattern won't show...

I will frog it and make a neck warmer from the Aline set and the hat and mittens for the Blushing Fall both from Drops Designs...

It is again aran weight which means I will probably have a gift for myself soon...

My Movie Night Knitting

It's been two weeks which means I have two movies to discuss...

Last week we watched Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels... And we are back on watching the same director in a row... Guy Ritchie... It was a fun movie and we had a good time watching it...

Now this week we watched The Gentlemen... Guy Ritchie again but there was more serious staff going on on this movie... It was his latest movie and you could see that he was more mature... It wasn't funny like the other two... It was more serious... And way more better...

On the knitting part of the movie, I think I am done knitting the leg and I need to make the ribbing and cast off... I can always add some more cm if he wants to...

That's all for now...

Hope you are safe and well!!!

Wish you the best and I will talk to you next time...
